Aussie coach talks with Nathan Bracken
AUSTRALIAN QUICKIE
The australian quick bowler Bracken motivated by John Buchanan of Australia
Bracken, who has not played Test cricket for almost two years, was chosen as Australian selectors resisted the temptation to play two spinners in Stuart MacGill and Shane Warne.

MacGill will undoubtedly be disappointed as he is once again left out of the Australian eleven, despite taking 4-39 and 5-43 against the World XI at the spin-friendly SCG last month.

He has been released to play for New South Wales against Western Australia.

Bracken was a bolter in the Australian one-day Super Series squad, where his left-arm seamers impressed sufficiently to warrant inclusion in a twelve-man Test squad.

With the 'Gabba wicket expected to favour pace bowling, Bracken was chosen ahead of MacGill following a consultation between coach John Buchanan and captain Ricky Ponting.

"He (Bracken) has got a great record up here and he will bowl well on that wicket," Ponting said.

The Australian eleven for the first Test against the West Indies is as follows: Matthew Hayden, Michael Hussey, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Simon Katich, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Watson, Shane Warne, Brett Lee, Nathan Bracken, Glenn McGrath.
