How can we make hockey as popular as cricket?

This is the question which is arising day by day because cricket is giving so much to the fans, so much money to the players. The real question is that who is responsible whether it is hockey federation, BCCI, common people, media, or money. Nowadays hockey is in a very bad condition and if we do not consider the problems of it then one day will come that hockey will be vanished. The hockey is our national game and this game is loosing its power. Now we can see that hockey demand is decreasing day by day. Comparing it with cricket, hockey is left far behind. Starting from the salary, it is far behind cricket. Hockey player gets 2000 per day and their trophy
is for only 5-10 lacs. But talking about the cricket every cricketer gets 1.75 lac of one day and 2.5 lac for every test match plus 50 lacs every year and advertisement which means they earn more than 6-7 crore per year. Hockey players traveling facilities is also not good in some ways. As far as cricketers are concerned, they get one single room for each of them in a five star hotel, they travel by a plane. Proper facilities to the players in cricket motivate cricketers to play good cricket, same should be done with hockey.When India won the t 20 Worldcup(cricket) in 2007 and India hockey team  won the Asia cup(hockey) in 2007 then our president called the both teams for a meeting. For cricketers a special bus was arranged to go to president place. And the prize given by the state govt to cricketers was 8-10 lacs but for hockey no prize was announced until media gave it a hype. This shows that how hockey is being declining.What can be more bad than this "India not Qualifying for the Olympics".

Media has created so much hype on cricketers that their single thing are on their camera .The hockey players have no advertisement with them and by this they are not able to earn their livelihood.Before the 83 world cup, hockey was in good condition. Cricket now has becomes so powerful because of its proper services, its extra amount of money, good management which is very good but same should be for the hockey .In an interview a famous a legend in the hockey says "I will never force my child to come in the hockey". Media is the one by which everyone is connected and therefore it is the duty of media to lift hockey.If we want  hockey back then we should all stand besides the hockey not against it.Films like Chak de India should be promoted to promote hockey. Everything should be started again. A rebuilding process should be implemented.We should have proper planning to rebuild the whole structure.
