History of Football

The football started during the 19th century in England when a soccer player, used only his feet to manipulate the ball, decided to simply pick it up and run with it. Obviously this was against the rules of soccer, other players soon found the new way of playing soccer hence sport of rugby was started.
The new sport became famous in America by the mid-1800s.
Football was still almost American rugby  much different from the football played  today.Yale player Walter Camp hence convinced the IFA to change a series of rules in football to create a game that is very similar to the one we know today. Because of this Camp is considered by historians as the father of modern football.
The most famous international football competition is the FIFA World Cup, held every four years. This event, the most widely viewed in the world and very popular across the world, even non football playing nations watch this event with great interest.
