attitude that makes him a delight to watch on the ground. His great batting
skills in the 2006 Natwest Trophy against England not only won him the Man of
the Series award but also helped Sri Lanka win the series 5-0.His superb
performance as an all-rounder fetched him the Man of the Tournament award in the
1996 Cricket World Cup, which was won by the Sri Lankan team. Sanath Jayasuriya
is the only batsman in the history of cricket to have made four ODI scores above
150 and he also has the record for the fastest 150 in an ODI innings. Second
highest ODI score of 189 runs along with
Viv Richards.
World
record for the fastest fifty, which was scored off 17 balls and shares the
record for the most number of sixes (11) in an ODI innings with
Shahid Afridi.
In 1997 Sanath Jayasuriya was chosen
as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year. Sanath Jayasuriya was selected to be
